Definition:
Extrusion involves the use of pelletized thermoplastic material, which is melted and then pumped or pulled through a die of the desired shape. The newly formed material is cooled and solidified as it is pulled through the die or a water tank. At the end of the process a cutter or coiler does the final handling of the product.
