Our sustainability strategy is grounded in three core pillars: People, Process, and Product. These guide everything we do to reduce environmental impact, empower our workforce, and drive innovative solutions. We’re already making meaningful progress, achieving 94% global employee engagement in 2024 and accelerating innovation in sustainable product design.
We’ve set bold, measurable goals across our operations:

Sustainability is a journey we share with our customers, suppliers, and communities. Learn how Americhem can support your product and compliance goals with eco-conscious solutions.
Here’s how Americhem is actively applying its sustainability strategy across operations and product innovation.
We’re cutting emissions with 100% renewable electricity at HQ, solar installations in Denmark, and ColdPound™ technology that reduces energy use by up to 85%.
In 2024, we sourced 100% renewable electricity for our world headquarters in Ohio. We reduced greenhouse gas emissions at several locations in 2024 through increased renewable energy sourcing, including the purchase of certified renewable energy certificates (RECs).
Lean manufacturing and recycling programs helped multiple sites divert 50%+ of waste from landfills. Water-saving tech and closed-loop systems are in place globally.
New initiatives in 2024 focused on reducing water intensity and increasing recycled material use in select facilities.
Across all U.S. operations and our Denmark site, Americhem participates in Operation Clean Sweep™—a pledge to eliminate plastic loss and protect waterways
We’re leading the shift to PFAS-free compounds (EcoLube™), recycled-content polymers, and cradle-to-cradle designs.
In 2024, we launched EcoLube™ MD, a PFAS-free internally lubricated compound developed for the healthcare market. We also expanded our ColdPound™ and solution dyeing technologies to reduce energy usage and support circularity in engineered plastics and fibers.
We continue to collaborate across the value chain to improve recyclability and material circularity.
Our people power our progress. We invest in:

From tree planting in India and educational programs in China to community cleanups in the U.S., Americhem teams are making an impact worldwide. Employees at every site are encouraged to take part in local volunteerism, environmental stewardship, and outreach programs that improve health, education, and quality of life.
By 2030, our goal is for 100% of facilities to be actively engaged in their communities.
Sustainability at Americhem is a shared journey – from progress to promise, driven by purpose and powered by partnerships.
