Americhem leads the industry in solution-dyeing of synthetic carpeting. This ensures the highest dispersion quality, durability, colorfastness and color control because our masterbatches become an integral part of the fiber during the fiber extrusion process. This helps reduce water consumption versus traditional post-dyeing processes.

Additive Masterbatches
Synthetic fibers, when exposed to sunlight, can degrade, resulting in discoloration and loss of physical properties. To help customers develop durable, long-lasting carpet products, Americhem offers nDuramax™ , a family of breakthrough UV stabilizing masterbatches designed to offer enhanced performance to synthetic fibers, including:
  • Lengthened service life and retention of mechanical properties
  • Extended aesthetic life of end products
We also offer a full range of other additive masterbatches , customized for each polymer, process and end use. Examples include: antimicrobials, flame retardants and antistatics.

To streamline carpet product development, we operate seven fiber spinning lines at locations, including Dalton, Ga. ; Concord, NC ; Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Suzhou, China; and Manchester, United Kingdom. Our pilot lines enable you to test products without interrupting your daily operations. Our synthetic fiber simulation capabilities include:
  • Fiber spinning (1dpf to monofilament, various cross-sections, up to 3300 mpm)
  • False twist and air jet texturing
  • Knitting (100 to 1500 denier)
  • Nonwoven fabric production via our spun-bonded pilot line.
Analytical Capabilities
There is a strong need for analytical testing in growing industries such as synthetic fibers. Much of this testing, from quality assessment to product analysis, is done in-house by Americhem's central analytical department. Many times, we provide solutions using decades of technical expertise and equipment in our own lab. We are connected to many outside testing facilities that offer an even broader range of very fine analyses.
