Americhem Polycarbonate Compounds & Masterbatch

What is Polycarbonate?

Polycarbonate, or PC, is an amorphous polymer containing carbonate groups in the chemical structure allowing it to be strong, durable, scratch resistant, impact resistant, and demonstrate many beneficial optical properties such as transparency. Polycarbonate is very tough at low temperatures, allowing it to be used in many tough applications such as safety helmets.

The Americhem Advantage in Polycarbonate

Americhem has extensive experience compounding PC with pigments for colors – both transparent & opaque as well as IR and other performance lens applications. Americhem also compounds PC with fillers and reinforcements for achieving effects such as: improved wear resistance, lower friction, improved tensile & flex modulus, electrical conductivity, and electrostatic discharge protection – all with smaller minimum order quantities than most of the industry.
